The hotel’s name is rooted in the family history of the owner, Mr. Reuven Sarugo. Sophia, Reuven’s mother, embarked on a long journey from Damascus, Syria to Argentina to meet her future husband – a man she had never met. Along the way, she stopped in the Land of Israel by the shores of Lake Tiberias. In her memory, the hotel bears her name.
